Privacy Policy

1. Overview & Privacy Commitment

Welcome to Study Point: Student Companion ("the Application"), developed by Dipu K Raj. Study Point: Student Companion ("we", "our", or "us") provides an all-in-one smart student companion application designed for school, college, and competitive exam students.

We strongly respect user privacy. Study Point does not collect, sell, rent, or transfer any personal data. The application is built with an offline-first architecture. This Privacy Policy outlines our transparent approach to user privacy and explains how data is handled when you download, install, and use Study Point: Student Companion (Version: 1.0.13).

2. Information Collection and Storage

Zero Personal Data Collection: We do not require account creation, phone numbers, email addresses, or personal identity details. You can freely access and use all app utilities without registering, signing in, or sharing any personal identity data.

Local Device Storage: All study tasks, weekly timetables, focus sessions, study bookmarks, and calculator inputs are stored solely on your device using a local SQLite database and AsyncStorage.

No Cloud Tracking: We do not transmit or store your private academic data on remote servers or third-party cloud backends. Your data stays 100% on your device.

3. Device Permissions

Study Point only requests permissions essential for core utility features:

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used strictly to send local reminders for upcoming study tasks, class schedules, and focus timer completions.
• Vibration: Used for tactile alerts when timers or task reminders trigger.
• Internet Permission (INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used only when users open external educational links (SWAYAM, NPTEL, academic portals) or use online study tools. No background user tracking or telemetry is conducted.

No Sensitive Sensor or Data Access: Study Point does NOT request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, storage files, precise GPS location, or device hardware IDs (such as IMEI or Advertising ID).

4. Third-Party Services & Links

Study Point is 100% committed to providing an unobtrusive and secure learning experience:

• The app does NOT contain third-party ad networks, analytics trackers, or user profiling SDKs.
• The app provides direct reference links to official educational portals (e.g., SWAYAM, NPTEL, academic resource portals). When clicking these external links, the privacy practices of those external sites apply.
• We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with third parties or data brokers.

5. Data Deletion, Control & Security

Because your data is strictly stored on your own device, you have complete ownership and control:

• You can edit or delete individual study tasks, timetable slots, and schedule entries inside the app at any time.
• Uninstalling the application or clearing the app storage from your Android device settings completely and permanently erases all stored data.

Security by Design: Since no personal data is collected or uploaded to remote cloud servers, your information is safe by design. All local data is isolated and protected by Android's application sandboxing architecture.

6. Children's Privacy

Study Point is designed for students of all age groups, including school students under 13. Because our application does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), it fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Family Policy requirements.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, new utility features, or regulatory compliance standards. Any revisions will be published immediately on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
